Nashville runs hot. We’re talking 90°+ summer heat, 300+ event days per year, and a food-and-beverage scene that never stops. From the commissary kitchens feeding the Lower Broadway honky-tonk strip to the caterers working the Ryman Auditorium and the healthcare corridor around Vanderbilt University Medical Center — keeping things cold isn’t optional. It’s the business.

Keep It Cold has been serving Middle Tennessee since 2020, delivering same-day across Nashville and the surrounding region for CMA Fest vendor booths, Tennessee State Fair catering, Nashville Predators playoff celebrations, and emergency equipment failures at Hendersonville restaurants and Gallatin event venues. Whether you call it a refrigerated trailer, a portable walk-in cooler, or a cold storage unit — we call it Tuesday.

Vending CMA Fest, the State Fair, or a Predators game-day event? Tennessee holds cold TCS food at 41°F or below under Rule 1200-23-1-.02(2)(b)1 — a 14-consecutive-day temporary permit, administered by the TN Dept of Health. One TN-specific catch: hot-holding here is 140°F, not the 135°F used almost everywhere else — worth knowing if you work multiple states. NASHVILLE COLD° STORAGE — FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the minimum rental period?

Our standard minimum is 1 day. Most rentals are 1–3 days for events. Longer-term rentals available — call to discuss.

What power does the trailer require?

A standard 110V outlet — dedicated 20-amp circuit, no GFCI. Not sure if your venue has one? Call us and we’ll help you check. Most Nashville event venues and restaurant loading docks have a compatible outlet. Outdoor setups at CMA Fest or Centennial Park may require a generator — we can advise on generator compatibility before delivery.

Do I need to drive or tow the trailer?

No. Our trailers are delivered to your location by our team and stay on-site for the duration of your rental. You do not tow or transport them. We handle delivery and pickup — you just plug it in and keep things cold.

Can I use the trailer to store kegs or bar stock for a Nashville event?

Absolutely — this is one of our most common Nashville use cases. Whether you’re running a commissary kitchen on Broadway, supplying a honky-tonk weekend, or managing bar stock for a private event at a Franklin venue, our 5′ and 8′ trailers are perfectly sized for keg and beverage storage. Call us with your event dates and we’ll confirm same-day availability.

Do you serve Nashville's big events -- CMA Fest, State Fair, Predators games?

Yes — and we plan ahead for them. CMA Fest, the Tennessee State Fair, Nashville Predators playoff events, and Bonnaroo-season catering are all part of our Nashville deployment calendar. During high-demand weekends, units go fast. Call early — or call us anyway and we’ll tell you what’s available. More reliable than a country song about a truck.

What's the service area from Nashville?

We deliver across all of Middle Tennessee — Nashville, Brentwood, Franklin, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville, Smyrna, Gallatin, Clarksville, Columbia, Shelbyville, Lebanon, Spring Hill, Cookeville, La Vergne, Cool Springs, Nolensville, and Leiper’s Fork. For locations outside this range, call us — we’ll tell you honestly whether we can reach you.

Can I use ice instead of a refrigerated trailer at a Nashville festival?

There’s no ban on refrigeration methods, but Tennessee requires cold food held at 41°F or below under Rule 1200-23-1-.02(2)(b)1. Ice used for consumption also has to come from an approved source and stay protected — it’s not a substitute for holding food temperature. Mechanical refrigeration is the reliable way to stay under 41°F for a multi-day event. See the full Nashville / Davidson County rules.
